I appologize, I do not speak German.

My great Grandparents were from Gottschee and I am researching my family history. I saw the photo's of the School teachers in Gottschee and I am wondering if you have any pictures or documents regarding two of my family members. My Great Uncle was named Andreas Eppich. He was born in 1877 in Mitterdorf 23 and resided in Lichtenbach #3, which I understand to be a school house. We know he was a teacher. He relocated to Graz prior to the Resettlement, I do not know for how long he taught in Gottschee.

Also, a cousin (Andreas' nephew) Franz Honigmann. Franz was born in 1916 in Mitterdorf 23. He was also a school teacher (we believe his wife was a teacher as well, but I do not know her name). He stayed in Gottschee until the Resettlement. He was murdered by Partisans in Rann in May of 1945.

If you could help me with any information, I would be grateful.

Julia - for your information by Barry Deutschmann:

Dear Trix,
Andreas Eppich (b. abt. 1877) was the child of Andreas Eppich of Oberloschin #4 (age 33, widow) & Maria Tschinkel. They married on 6/13/1875 in Mitterdorf parish. Maria's parents were Stefan Tschinkel and Margaretha Erker. She was from Koflern #9, 29 and single.
Andreas Eppich (1877) married Maria Medtiz in Nesselthal parish on 2/18/1900. He was living in Lichtenbach #3 and she was living in Lichtenbach #16. They had Oskar/Oscar Eppich in Lichtenbach #3 on 3/22/1901. Her parents were Vincenz Meditz and Gertraud Meisel. She was 21 when she married Andreas.
Andreas' grandparents on the Eppich side were Andreas Eppich of Oberloschin #4 and Maria Primosch of Masern #10 of Masern parish. They married on 6/26/1837 in Masern parish. His parents were Thomas Eppich and Maria Perz. Andreas was a widow at the time and age 25. Maria was 19 and single. Her parents were Paul Primosch and Maria Erker.
There is a lot more information in the records the GHGA sells - or you can go to a Latter Day Saints Family History Center to find out more.
